Some Inspiration

As I am taking part in a Christmas Arts Market in Nottingham very soon I have been working towards this and creating lots of new pieces to sell. I have slightly updated the pieces from the ones I had made in the degree show and have used frames in order to make them look more final!

When I make the layered pieces I use photographs of interesting places I have been or that are around me. I am always attracted to different buildings, often quirky and look for vibrant colour. Here are some of the places I have found and that have influenced me.

Wirksworth

After making the trip to Derby (and after the help of a little angel) my work was finally up and ready to go in the local French restaurant 'Le Mistral'. It was a great experience, despite the rain, and the whole festival had a lovely atmosphere. Here's a few pictures from the weekend.

Since the degree show I have been invited to exhibit in the Wirksworth Rural Arts Festival near Derby. If you are near the area come have a look at some new and exciting work from some new design graduates. Running from the 6th to the 22nd September the festival is sure to impress with exhibits popping up all over the town. I will be exhibiting in a window along the main high street so come and say hi!

New Designers

I was lucky enough to be selected to exhibit at the New Designers show in Islington, London. Was a bit of a mad rush getting everything ready to go and all packed up to be shipped but managed to get everything done in time! I had stupidly already booked a holiday for the same week but managed to make it down to London for the last day and got to see everyone's work which I thought was amazing. It was a really good experience and have made some useful contacts so I can't wait to do the next one! Here are a few snapshots from the event.... And the well deserved holiday!
